District Interact Organizational Structure

District 7120 Interact consists of three key components:

District Interact Chairperson

Appointed by the District Governor, the District Interact Chairperson administers the Interact program district-wide and offers assistance to the Rotary clubs.  The chairperson, along with the District Interact Advisory Committee and the District Interact Student Council, publicizes the program and promotes the organization of new Interact clubs.

District Interact Advisory Committee

Designated by Rotary clubs with active Interact programs, the District Interact Advisory Committee provides guidance and support to the District Interact Student Council and helps to ensure that the objectives of both the district and student councils are achieved.  The Advisory Committee supports the district Interact program by publicizing it’s activities, promoting the organization of new clubs, sponsoring district Interact meetings, acting as a liaison to the sponsoring Rotary clubs and training incoming student council members, club officers, committee chairpersons, Rotarian advisors and faculty advisors.

 District Interact Student Council

Student representatives to the DISC are designated by each of the Interact clubs in the district.  The student council consists of a president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer and club delegates.  Officers are elected on an annual basis.

The president is the leader of the District Interact Student Council and is responsible for managing its business.  In that capacity, he or she consults with the District Interact Chairperson, prepares agendas and leads the discussion in monthly meetings.  Other responsibilities include appointing committee chairs, ensuring follow-through on DISC commitments and serving as the primary student liaison to Rotary District 7120.

The vice-president maintains an accurate information profile for each of the Interact clubs in the district and assists in communicating information about their projects and activities to Rotary District 7120 and Rotary International.

The secretary is responsible for transcribing notes and action items at each of the council meetings and for communicating this information to all DISC and DIAC members on a timely basis.

The treasurer is responsible for the finances of the student council.  In this capacity, he or she serves as a liaison to the district Rotary Treasurer documenting all receipts from fundraiser activities and initiating requests for funding.  The treasurer also assists in the preparation of the annual district Interact budget.

The club delegates represent the interests of their home clubs by attending DISC meetings, serving on committees and providing the linkage between the DISC and local Interact clubs.
